“Honoring Our Elders” and other stories by Thomas Doty

As a beginning storyteller in the 1980s, Thomas Doty sought out local native elders, to listen and learn. Charles (“Chuck”) Jackson (Cow Creek) and Agnes Baker Pilgrim (Takelma) became lifelong friends and helped him launch his career. In 2019 he began offering public presentations in the Rogue Valley and beyond, focusing on his history of sharing stories with Grandma Aggie and Chuck.
